CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
WHAT IS CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY?
A clinical psychologist has expertise in diagnosing, assessing, and treating a range of serious mental health disorders.
Mental illness is a narrower concept than mental health, and often involves distressing changes in how one may think, feel, behave, or interact with the world. Mental health is not just an absence of illness, but also refers to a state of psychological well-being.
Resolving mental illness and building good mental health work in tandem. Dr Guha works with all her clients on these twin aims.
WHERE AND WHEN?
Dr Guha provides individual clinical psychological services to adults (ages 21+) through her private practice.
At present, she offers sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays in Brunswick (or via telehealth). She also offers telehealth consultations every second Thursday evening.
Please use the enquiry form to contact her if interested in therapy.
FEES
Clients who see her are eligible to receive Medicare rebates under the Better Access scheme (if based in Australia), with a rebate of $141.85 per session.
Her rates for clients are $240 for a session during business hours, and $260 for an after-hours session.
Any requests for letters and reports to be completed outside session incur an additional fee.
HOW?
Dr Guha’s therapeutic practice is built on the principles of warmth, respect, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. She only uses therapies which have been tested and shown to work, and carefully matches the difficulties you have with the interventions she offers.
She is trained in a range of therapy styles including schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive processing therapy for PTSD, EMDR, and cognitive behavioural therapy. She often blends elements of each to provide a multi-pronged approach.
Dr Guha sees therapy as a longer-term attachment-focused relationship (though she is also able and willing to provide short-term interventions), and a commitment made together to hold space for you so you can safely explore the difficulties which bring you to treatment.
She is committed to making her practice safe and accessible for those with marginalised identities.

Dr Guha’s ideal client has some sense of what they want from treatment, is willing to tolerate some discomfort in the pursuit of a meaningful life, is willing and able to commit to attendance at regular sessions, and to do some work between sessions.
